Monster Ax Bio:

For the Monster Ax I set out to make a purpose-built rig with the function of being a daily driver, go-anywhere rig in mind. I made the wheelbase extremely long at about 16.5" to accommodate the width of the Wraith axles and keep it scale. It has yet to find terrain it can't conquer. This monster was like King Kong in the city on our scaler test course. Clearly a new course is in order! All the right parts from a choice selection of Axial kits made this the perfect build, completed mid-May 2014. Liking the newly released Yeti? We can't wait to get our hands on one of those and start modding.

As with most of my other builds, I try to use solely the spare parts received in kit part bags. Because I wanted this rig so big, it had to have special drive lines, and the answer ended up being really simple. Axial already supplies you with everything you need in the Wild Boar kit (except CA glue). I took the extra replacement plastic drive shaft parts and assembled them to create super-extended drive lines to match up with the massive 16.5" wheelbase.
